not going to a jc very jialat meh?! what's so bad about going to poly?! does that mean that poly grads are less able than jc grads? and didn't a report just come out on dipolma holders' salaries being on the raise?! some poly grads are even more successful than us jc buggers loh. so what's the big deal?
really, parents shd get their damn heads of the the ruts they are obviously still stuck in and wake up their freaking ideas. whoever said that jc is the best option to go in terms of getting quality education?! quality education lies not in the types of schools we go to, but with the effort we want to put into to make it quality over quantity. it also depends on our areas of interests. putting someone in a jc might even hinder them in taking a step towards their dreams.
have some parents ever stop thinking about what THEY want their child to do, and find out from their child what HE/SHE wants to do?! the impt thing is that parents should not try to 'live vicariously' thru their children, making their kids fulfil their unfulfilled dreams, simply because this is not their lives. it's their kids' lives.
jc is not necessarily the stepping stone in some lives, and vice versa. so there's really no point in talking to ur kids and trying to persuade them to heed your words, but rather let them choose which path they want to take.. if they make a mistake then it's their prerogative, and as parents, we (not me lah!) should be there to catch them. they have to experience for themselves, if not they can never progress. isn't that the problem with sg parents nowadays?! they are too protective of their kids that they become so dependent on daddy and mommy, and can't take the tough realities of life?
